Ingredients
- 2 lbs. chicken wings
-
1/2 cup Blues Hog Pork Marinade
- 2 cups water
-
2 cups Blues Hog Tennessee Red BBQ Sauce
-
3/4 cup teriyaki sauce
-
1/2 cup brown sugar
-
1 tbsp sesame oil
-
Sweet & Savory Seasoning
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
- 3 green onions, sliced
Directions
Prepare your chicken wings, separating the drums from the flats. Place wings in a sealable container (i.e. a zip lock bag or food storage container).
- Mix together the dry marinade and water. Add mixture to the wings and let soak overnight in the refrigerator.
The next day, remove the wings from the marinade. Dry and season generously with Blues Hog Sweet & Savory, then smoke at 275° for approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.
Next, remove the wings from the smoker and place in a foil pan with chicken broth. Increase smoker temp to 375°, cover pan with foil, and transfer back to the smoker to braise until tender. This should take about 2 hours.
As the wings cook, combine Tennessee Red BBQ Sauce, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a small pot on the stove. Bring to a boil and let simmer until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside.
Remove wings from the broth and coat with the Tennessee Red & teriyaki sauce mixture. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onion slices.
